Memory Card Match
Flip cards and find matching pairs. Train your memory!
About Memory Card Match
Memory Card Match is the digital form of Concentration — also known as Pairs or Pelmanism — the card game generations of children have used to sharpen their recall. A set of face-down cards hides matching pairs, and the only tool you have is your memory of what flashed past a second ago. It rewards calm, systematic play far more than fast clicking.
This version deals bright fruit-picture cards (apples, lemons, grapes, strawberries and more — picture cards, not playing cards) on four board sizes: 4, 6, 8 or 12 pairs. A timer starts the moment you flip your first card, every two-card attempt counts as one move, and mismatched cards stay visible for a moment before flipping back — that brief glimpse is your chance to memorise them. Finish the board and the game celebrates with your final move count and time, so you can try to clear the same size in fewer moves.
How to Play Memory Card Match
Pick a board size at the top: 4 pairs for a warm-up, 6 or 8 pairs for a real test, or 12 pairs for the full challenge.
Click any face-down card to flip it and reveal its fruit picture.
Click a second card. If the pictures match, both stay face-up and dim slightly; if not, they flip back after about a second.
Use what you saw to hunt down pairs deliberately instead of guessing — the Matched counter tracks your progress.
Match every pair to complete the board. Your moves and total time are shown, and Play Again deals a fresh shuffle at the same size.

Tips & Tricks
- 💡Give every card a grid address in your head — "strawberry, row 2, column 3" — because position memory is far stronger than a vague feeling of having seen a fruit.
- 💡On your first pass, flip cards in a fixed left-to-right, top-to-bottom order so the ones you expose form a tidy mental map instead of scattered fragments.
- 💡When a new card matches something you saw earlier, finish that pair immediately rather than exploring — banked pairs can never be forgotten.
- 💡On the 12-pair board, spend your first several moves purely scouting: flipping two unknown cards builds your map faster than chasing half-remembered pairs.
Memory Card Match — Frequently Asked Questions
How is my performance measured?+
By moves and time. A move is one two-card attempt, whether it matches or not, and the timer runs from your first flip until the final pair is matched. Fewer moves in less time is the goal — a perfect 4-pair game takes just 4 moves.
Which board size should I start with?+
Start with 4 pairs to learn the rhythm, then move to 8 pairs, which most players find the sweet spot. The 12-pair board (24 cards) is a serious memory workout.
Is this a playing-card or gambling game?+
No. Despite the name, the cards carry fruit pictures and the game is pure memory matching — there is no deck of suits, no betting and nothing of chance beyond the shuffle.
Does the layout change every game?+
Yes. The pairs are shuffled randomly on every deal, so memorising a previous board never helps — each game is a fresh test.
