About Word Search
Word Search generates a brand-new puzzle every time you play. Choose from four word lists — Animals, Space, Food and Tech, ten words each — and the game hides eight words in a 10×10 grid on Easy, or all ten in a 12×12 grid on Hard, filling the remaining squares with random letters. On Easy the words run left-to-right, top-to-bottom or diagonally down; on Hard they can hide in all eight directions, including backwards, which makes even familiar words surprisingly hard to spot.
Selection works the way you naturally play: drag across a word from first letter to last, or click the first letter and then the last. Found words light up green in the grid and are struck through in the list, and a running timer plus a score (150 points per word, minus 2 per second) keeps every round competitive against your own best. Because the generator retries placements until every word genuinely fits, each grid is guaranteed to contain all of its listed words exactly as placed.
How to Play Word Search
Pick a theme (Animals, Space, Food, Tech) and a difficulty: Easy 10×10 with 8 words, or Hard 12×12 with 10 words.
Read the word list on the side of the grid — those are the words hidden in the letters.
Drag across a word in a straight line to select it, or click its first letter and then its last letter.
A correct selection turns green and strikes the word off the list; a wrong one simply clears.
Find every word to complete the puzzle and see your time and score.

Tips & Tricks
- 💡Hunt for rare letters first — a J, Q, X or Z on the grid almost always belongs to one specific word.
- 💡Search one word at a time and scan systematically: all rows, then all columns, then diagonals.
- 💡On Hard, read lines from the end backwards; reversed words are the ones most players miss.
- 💡Long words like ELEPHANT or ASTEROID have fewer possible hiding places — find them first to shrink the search space.

Are the puzzles different every time?+
Yes. Word placement and all filler letters are randomised for every new game, so the same theme never produces the same grid twice. The generator keeps retrying until every word on the list is genuinely placed.
Which directions can words run in?+
On Easy (10×10) words run in three directions: right, down and diagonally down-right. On Hard (12×12) all eight directions are used, including up, left and reversed diagonals.
How does scoring work?+
Each found word earns 150 points and every second on the clock subtracts 2 points, with a minimum final score of 50. Your score is shown when the last word is found.
Can I play with touch?+
Yes — the grid uses pointer events, so dragging a finger across letters works the same as dragging a mouse, and the click-first-then-last method works with taps too.
