About Word Scramble
Anagram puzzles have entertained solvers since ancient Greek poets rearranged names into hidden meanings, and the jumbled-word format became a newspaper fixture in the twentieth century. The skill it trains is real: your brain stores words partly by their letter patterns, and unscrambling forces those patterns into the open, which is why a word can look like nonsense for ten seconds and then suddenly be obvious.
Word Scramble deals you one jumbled word at a time from a bank of 30 familiar words — things like "rocket", "garden", "turtle" and "umbrella". Each puzzle shows a free hint, the number of letters, and blank slots to fill. Type your answer and submit it: correct answers add 1 to your Solved count and move you on automatically. Wrong answers cost nothing and can be retried endlessly, and three helpers sit under the input — Reshuffle re-jumbles the same word for a fresh look, Reveal simply shows the answer, and Skip moves on, with skips counted separately.
How to Play Word Scramble
Read the jumbled letters in the big display, and check the hint and letter count underneath.
Type the word you think the letters rearrange into in the answer box (typing is case-insensitive).
Press Enter or the ✓ button to submit. A correct answer flashes green, adds 1 to your Solved score and deals the next word after a second.
If you are wrong, the panel flashes red and clears your input — try a different arrangement as many times as you like.
Stuck? Reshuffle the letters for a new view, Reveal the answer to learn it, or Skip to the next word. Skips are counted but cost no points.

Tips & Tricks
- 💡Hunt for common endings first: many words in the bank end in -ET, -ER, -LE or -OW, and anchoring an ending turns the remaining letters into a much smaller puzzle.
- 💡Separate the vowels from the consonants mentally and look at what clusters the consonants can form — SCR, RD and MB shapes point at whole syllables.
- 💡Use Reshuffle shamelessly: a fresh arrangement genuinely helps, because a different letter can land at the front and trigger recognition. It costs nothing.
- 💡Cross-check with the hint before submitting — if your candidate word does not match the clue ("Arctic sea mammal"), it is wrong no matter how neatly it uses the letters.
Word Scramble — Frequently Asked Questions
Do wrong guesses or skips cost points?+
No. Your Solved counter only goes up by 1 per correctly solved word, wrong guesses are free and unlimited, and skipping merely increments a separate Skipped counter so you can see how often you bailed out.
How long are the words?+
Almost all are six letters — rocket, mirror, walrus and so on — with one eight-letter exception (umbrella). The letter count and a hint are always shown, so you are never guessing blind.
Does Reveal end the puzzle?+
No. Reveal prints the answer above the puzzle and you can still type it in to earn the solve, or skip along. It is a learning aid, not a forfeit.
Is there a timer or a fail state?+
Neither. Word Scramble is a relaxed, untimed puzzle — your Solved and Skipped tallies simply accumulate for as long as you keep playing.
