About Ludo
Ludo on Vimzify is the beloved board game on a crisp, high-contrast 2D board that is easy to read at a glance: the full classic layout with the 52-square cross-shaped track, four coloured home yards (red, green, yellow and blue), matching home columns, star-marked safe squares and the four-triangle centre finish. Tokens are big, bold pieces that hop square by square around the board and stack neatly when they share a square, and the large dice shows its pips clearly while it rolls.
Every match starts on a proper setup screen — the heart of this version. Choose 2, 3 or 4 players, then decide for each colour whether it is played by a local human (pass-and-play on the same device), by the computer AI, or switched off entirely. The match starts with exactly that line-up — no more, no less — and the Setup button takes you back to change it whenever you like. The full official-style rule set is enforced: you need a 6 to leave your yard, captures send rival tokens all the way back to their yard, safe squares protect their occupants, rolling a 6, capturing or bringing a token home earns an extra roll, three consecutive 6s forfeit your turn, and an exact roll is required to step into the centre finish. The AI plays a sensible game of its own: it leaves the yard eagerly, hunts captures, escapes danger and shelters on safe squares, so even a solo player gets a real contest.
The first player to bring all four tokens home wins, and the game-over screen ranks everyone by tokens finished. There are no downloads, no accounts and no gambling elements — just the timeless race, ready to play in your browser with friends, family or the AI.
How to Play Ludo
Start on the setup screen: pick 2, 3 or 4 players, then set each colour to Human, AI or Off. The match only begins when you press Start Game — and it always uses exactly the setup you chose.
On your turn, tap the big dice or press Space to roll. You must roll a 6 to move a token out of your yard onto your coloured start square.
Tap one of your highlighted, pulsing tokens (or press 1–4) to move it forward by the rolled number along the 52-square track. Tokens hop square by square so you can follow every move.
Land exactly on a rival token to capture it and send it back to its yard — but tokens on the four start squares and four star squares are safe and cannot be captured.
Rolling a 6, capturing a token, or bringing a token into the centre finish earns an extra roll. Beware: rolling three 6s in a row forfeits the rest of your turn.
After completing a lap, your tokens turn into their coloured home column. You need an exact roll to enter the centre finish — the first player to get all four tokens home wins the game.

Tips & Tricks
- 💡Spread your risk: bring all four tokens out of the yard early so a single capture never wipes out your whole race.
- 💡Use safe squares as stepping stones — end your move on a star or start square whenever the dice allow it, especially with enemy tokens close behind.
- 💡Count the gap before you chase a capture: if the token you are hunting sits in front of another rival, your capturing token may be captured straight back.
- 💡In the home stretch, keep tokens on different distances from the finish so more dice values can score an exact finish instead of being wasted.
Ludo — Frequently Asked Questions
How many people can play Ludo?+
Between 2 and 4 players. Before the match you pick the player count on the setup screen, and every colour (Red, Green, Yellow, Blue) can independently be a local human in pass-and-play, an AI opponent, or switched off — so you can play solo against three AIs, head-to-head with a friend plus two AIs, or any other mix. The match always starts with exactly the setup you chose.
What are the safe squares in Ludo?+
The eight safe squares are the four coloured start squares and the four squares marked with a star. A token standing on a safe square can never be captured, and tokens of different colours can share a safe square peacefully.
Why did my turn end after rolling three 6s?+
That is the standard three-sixes rule: rolling a 6 normally earns an extra roll, but if you roll a third consecutive 6 the turn is forfeited immediately and play passes to the next player with no move made for that roll.
Do I need an exact roll to finish a token?+
Yes. A token must land exactly on the centre finish — if the roll would carry it past the finish, that token simply cannot move with that roll (you may still move a different token if one has a legal move).
How does the AI play?+
The AI follows a sensible priority policy: leave the yard on a 6, take captures when available, finish tokens, move endangered tokens out of reach, head for safe squares, and otherwise advance its furthest token — with a natural thinking pause so you can follow its moves.
Can I change the players after a match has started?+
Yes — press the ⚙ Setup / New Game button at any time to return to the setup screen, change the player count or who is Human, AI or Off, and start a fresh match with the new setup.
