Frequently Asked Questions

Which browsers support speech to text?

The Web Speech recognition API works in Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge on desktop and Android. Safari and Firefox do not currently expose it, so this page shows a clear fallback message there instead of an error or a broken button.

Is my voice recorded or stored?

Vimzify stores nothing. Recognition is done by your browser's speech service — in Chrome that means audio is processed by Google's servers; some other browsers process on-device. The transcript only exists in this page until you copy or clear it.

What is continuous mode?

With continuous mode on, recognition keeps running through pauses and automatically restarts if the browser ends a session, so you can dictate long passages. Turn it off if you only want short phrases, where the recogniser stops after each sentence.

How accurate is it?

Accuracy depends on the language, microphone and background noise. Speak steadily about 15–20 cm from the mic, choose the exact language you are speaking, and dictate punctuation where your browser supports it.
