Fuel Cost Calculator
Work out fuel use and cost for any trip or commute.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is trip fuel cost calculated?
Divide distance by efficiency to get fuel used (or multiply distance by L/100km divided by 100), then multiply fuel used by the price per gallon or litre.
How do I convert mpg to L/100km?
Divide 235.2 by the mpg figure. For example, 35 mpg is about 6.7 L/100km. Note US and UK gallons differ, so figures vary slightly by region.
Why is my real fuel use higher?
Official efficiency figures come from lab tests. Cold starts, traffic, air conditioning, roof loads and aggressive acceleration all increase real consumption, often by 15 to 25 percent.
Is the Fuel Cost Calculator free, and is my data private?
Yes. It is completely free and every calculation runs locally in your browser, so the numbers and dates you enter are never uploaded, stored, or shared with anyone.
